Everlasting Peace

Everlasting Peace

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Would you die for world peace?

"

"Onward" cried the wayward soldier, "give them the hell they deserve" but when they reached the hill's apex they saw little children by the score. In disbelief the men lingered in the silent shock of their own eyes. What, pray tell, happened to the men we fought? They died one by one in search of answers to find the peace that everlasting had sought.

Death always brings a realization, an awakening that our eyes could never see before. Such a pondering thought, Alfred!
