Mumble

Mumble

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Do you wonder what you say?

"

There's a mumble in the back of your throat.

You clear yourself yet traces of that mumble remain lodged.

You try again but fail.

All day long you wonder,

wonder about the content of the mumble.

There you stay, mumbling all day to yourself,

wondering, wondering how could a mumble

possibly be associated with wonder.

Don't ponder to much Kelly. That wonderful weather, sunshine, a snowy print coming your way. I love giving to you.

Isn't the "mumble" our inner voice? It speaks to us in muted tones, when we're alone or aggravated with ourselves...perhaps, that's just my mumble speaking to me!

You give me much to ponder, Alfred! ; )

Thank you Briana, I bet you are a sweet Irish gal with the gaelic angel voice.

This a very cute and catchy poem. Also a great reflection of not being able to express your voice. One thing I would recommend is reviewing the 2nd line. It doesn't quite flow with the piece. Thank you for sharing.

the wonder is...what will the reaction be if i actually say it loud and clear...

mumbles are ambiguous...some poems are that way...maybe as poets, we fear saying it too clearly will garner negative reaction...

so we hint...a mumble is like a hint.

i really like this poem....

the kind that will remain lodged at the back of my mind...not a mumble.
