Come Holler

Come Holler

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

What? I can't hear you!

"
Come Holler

Come holler once to me
Let the voice of the hour
descend into me.
Hearing in an abrupt
Twang of innocence
I swallowed your words
As though they were mine
And became part of you
Forever to shine.

Thank you all. I have to admit this influence has been wonderful for my writing. I have all of you fine people to thank.

I feel this to have been a powerful moment for the speaker. And though we are not privy to the details that is not what is important. Only that words spoken or "hollered" were placed into the speaker, and rested, and grew. in its proper place.

'I swallowed your words/ as though they were mine"---

"and became part of you"

wow this to me is a poet having a true admiration for another's words...

and just absorbing them...till they almost become their own...

another write of yours that I just dove into head first and felt a great splash.
