Among Ghosts & Small Legends

Among Ghosts & Small Legends

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

Guess where most battles are fought?

"

Here among ghosts and small legends
Battles remembered, battles won,
Everyman heaves in the strained sky
His mask removed it's the killing hour

Bloodshed, men are dead,
Youth gone by the highway of old age
Skin tattered, torn, blown to hell
All on imagined foreign soil.

Thanks Jacob but why does it still hurt so much?

right here at home...

lots of battles won, too many lost to win them...and many young don't get a chance to become old.
