Questions & Statements of War

Questions & Statements of War

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

In a battle everything takes place.

"

There were shots fired in the hope of something happening,

Blood pumping in as many living persons,

Hearts beating, explosions everywhere,

Are you standing? Are you firing your weapon?

Can you run any faster? Where are you going?

The bullets lived in the air, moving at horrific speeds,

Did you see the last man falling?

Has the sounds of battled ceased?

Are you there living among us?

What are we doing and where do we go from here?

Don't die on me now!
