Today's Weather

Today's Weather

A Poem by Alfred Kukitz
"

It seems all of life had fallen down.

"

There was no one leading the noise.

Silence moved to Pakistan.

The mumbles moved along defunct highways.

Everywhere just seemed motionless,

Wondering if any further existence was possible.

The whole lineup of virtue shifted leaning

Toward a negotiated settlement with vice.

Winter, too, with its breezy cold winds,

The kind that solitude love to play,

Thought that maybe it couldn't orchestrate itself any longer.

The fabric became looser.

Anybody tried to cry but seemed to have lost the tears.

Sunshine, the only thing working, just shrugged it shoulders.

Amen wanted to step in but lost its footing in the first step.

Only hope didn't despair.

The humans, after a huge Thanksgiving dinner, settled into the bathroom.

Brilliant insights into this fragment of time... this distant place (for many of us)... the winds moving across the lands... across the minds... and still a day of thanks...

Thank You! This was a fun, riotous piece.
