Tightrope Dancer

Tightrope Dancer

A Poem by Laz K.
"

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. - Soren Kierkegaard

"

When it’s all too much, and

Your nerves are tight wires

About to snap over the abyss;

When you can’t sleep, and

Life is a bad dream you

Cannot wake from;

When you play a game, and

Realized you’ve been played,

You suddenly put on a face

Like Jesus’ on the cross, and

Wish your words were lifeless

Marks on paper: fiction at best,

Veiled confessions at worst,

Read by a generation that

Never knew you.

Sitting in well-lit halls of learning,

Or cozy armchairs, they’d analyze,

Explain, unlock that which

You never could and they’d sigh and

Say, “Yes, indeed, yes, yes, indeed,” and

Life would be a puzzle solved,

A chasm crossed.

Love the images coming through the words even though the suffocation from the poem is too real to read it over and over.
Personally resonate with "Veiled confessions at worst, Read by a generation that Never knew you." the most! It's a reality that you laugh with a bitter sigh.
