Invisible Man

Invisible Man

A Poem by Laz K.
"

When I discover who I am, I’ll be free. ~ Invisible Man (Ralph Ellison)

"

In a black and white world

Who can see my true colors?

I’m neither friend, nor foe,

Forced to be a pretender,

I’m quiet and alert as I lie low.

My thoughts are written in invisible ink,

Reductionist retinas, watchful,

Suspicious, keep me here on the brink.

I’ll turn my back on this world of lies,

Let my tears fall till the tears run dry, and

Fix my eyes on the light behind gray skies.

"the light behind the gray skies"
when we really get to know ourselves...we will feel comfortable in the rain.
