Shallow Ponds or Rivers Wide

Shallow Ponds or Rivers Wide

A Poem by Laz K.

Shallow ponds or

Rivers wide,

You’ll wait for me

On the other side

Mighty fortress

Walls of stone

The fires burn

To guide me home

We’re born, we live,

We love, we grow

On our journey

Together we roam

We can’t count the stars

Nor the grains of sand

In the hour glass of Time,

But we can sing a song

That’s ours to sing

No matter how long

Or hard the climb, Oh

How long and hard the climb

Author's Note

Laz K.
Unintentionally, but it came out like a religious hymn or a spiritual song.
Maybe it's because of the approaching Christmas season.

unintentionally or not, its a strong lyric Laz. the spirituality has a sense rooted in wisdom of our place in space and time. enjoyed the read.
one small thought I did have: Narrow in place of shallow might tighten the image a little, mirroring opening and ending of first two lines. just a thought
