Being WiseA Poem by Laz K.Blood drips from billboards, From headlines, oozes from Slick screens, soaking white flags, Taunting us like a matador’s muleta. This time, there will be no ark to save us. The flood of lies unleashed by
Malice and ignorance will drown us all. We frown at the pharos in their high seats, But dare not move, lest the pyramid Crumbles, and freedom falls Upon us with a terrible silence. O unbearable, mute tranquility Torment us not with your wordless Judgment, with your maddening serenity! We pray that you spare us from your mercy! Let not the scales fall from our eyes, for We can’t bear the weight of being wise. © 2022 Laz K.Featured Review
