Snake Charmer

Snake Charmer

A Poem by Laz K.

the confines of the world

cannot hold the circumference

of my mind, nor is my imagination

a flock of geese fenced in on

a poor farmer’s pitiful yard.

ask me and I’ll tell you that

parallel lines meet in infinity,

or that knowledge is but recognition

-          memory of what once was.

I’m a senseless fool that thinks

with his heart, one that sees

the trees sway and bend, and

wants to know from whence

the wind comes. you move me,

tickle me, tease me like a

warm summer breeze that ripples

the oceans of my moods, and fans my passions

-          a stubborn fire of hungry flames.

a snake charmer coaxes a dance

out of its venomous pet; you coax

my words out of their dark

hiding place to the light where

one may behold them with

a mixture of amazement and disbelief.

we’re words and melody of the same song

-          oh, darling, come along, come along
