ReckoningA Poem by Laz K.Youth left no stone unturned, Nor no bridge unburned, Looking for truth, beauty, and love. Feasting on deception and lies, Our foolish, hungry hearts Conjured fires of cold flames That pleased the eyes, but Left us shivering in the night. Armies of minute men Clamored in our minds, Ravaged our hearts, Fighting senseless wars, Bleeding us dry. The chaos within spawned Confusion and chaos without, Tearing down the flimsy Façade of a pretense life. Now, as strangers, we roam Silent halls and chambers Looking for buried treasure In the sand, staring at strange Markings on the walls, and At mummified remains Of what we once were. © 2021 Laz K.Featured Review
