Ad AstraA Poem by Laz K.Partly inspired by the film of the same title. We breathe out love like a fragrance Into the air, a trace by which we hope to be Found, to be freed from our invisible Cage where we are pinned like a faint Flickering dot on a mighty tapestry of lights Prisoners in orbit we are, spinning by like Atoms of loneliness reaching out, unable To unite, gliding through the silence of A dark void designed not to conduct sound Lest it be loud with our pitiful sighs And yet, we fix hopeful eyes at night’s Mysterious dark garb, her star-freckled Impassive face, and smile, seeing a future In the glowing star-shaped flowers Growing high in fate’s garden in the sky Stars may collide due to a heavenly oversight And as time passes, no one believes such a desert Of dust as ours was once rich in color and
sound All is silent now as sadness plants black seeds
of Memories scarring the surface with a heavy plow © 2021 Laz K. |
