Lagrimas de Saudade

Lagrimas de Saudade

A Poem by Laz K.

Let the mourners mourn

Let the weepers weep, for

It’s the soul’s elemental need

That she muses and ruminates

Gazing in the black mirror of

Melancholy till it cradles her to sleep

With lullabies of past pleasures, and

With soft whisperings of memories of

Once closely-held treasures

Do not tell such a soul to smile

Oh, do not begrudge her tears, for

It’s not a better tomorrow that

She seeks, but the fading scent and

Taste of some sweet yesterdays

A touch, a look, or a soft word

Left here and there as a trace

To lead her not out of

But back into the maze

'ti's truest of truths that we've got to know pain to know pleasure and those tears could very well be the catharsis required to bring the exhaustion and sleep that could well be the gates of escape.
Let the tears fall when you are low and maybe that will be the respite required to lift the pain.
I like the end, with the look, soft touch, that let's her know you see her and if she wants to talk, you are there to listen.
Sometimes the last thing someone wants is drama and attention focused on them, but the look or word could make the world off difference

no problem sir
In the deepest of melancholy, all we want to do is sleep...it is our escape from what we feel...as long as we are able to close our eyes to it all.
