Butterfly Effect

Butterfly Effect

A Poem by Laz K.

A thousand years ago or more

Drunk on honeyed nectar

A butterfly flapped its wings

Ignorant of its own power

Its beauty and splendor

Long gone is that day

Long gone is that flower

But those delicate wings

Stirred a storm in my soul

Of a terrible force and power

This tempest raged unseen

By the world undetected

While I whirled round and round

Mesmerized by its unmoving eye

Unable to defy or to resist it

Like dust, like a dry leaf in the wind

I took flight feeling weightless

And dreamt that I was a butterfly

Drunk on honeyed nectar

Innocent, blameless

This is an interesting & surprising suck into the world of someone who's in a tempest of longing but not considering it his/her choice . . . as evidenced by your excellent last line . . . there are many ways people refuse to take responsibility . . . "he/she made me feel this" . . . "or made me do that" . . . the blame game that always follows such heady stirrings with crash landings. You don't say anything about a crash landing, but this scenario seems destined for one! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It's amazing how you connect butterfly effect with psychological turmoils. A seemingly careless act, be it a smile, a letter, or a comment like this, potentially gives rise to another disaster. Beware!
