Butterfly EffectA Poem by Laz K.A thousand years ago or more Drunk on honeyed nectar A butterfly flapped its wings Ignorant of its own power Its beauty and splendor
Long gone is that day Long gone is that flower But those delicate wings Stirred a storm in my soul Of a terrible force and power
This tempest raged unseen By the world undetected While I whirled round and round Mesmerized by its unmoving eye Unable to defy or to resist it
Like dust, like a dry leaf in the wind I took flight feeling weightless And dreamt that I was a butterfly Drunk on honeyed nectar Innocent, blameless © 2020 Laz K.Featured Review
