In MemoriamA Poem by Laz K.On the tragic loss of a family memberThese were wintry, gray, Melancholic summer days Death glided along easy, Dancing on happy feet We sat speechless, grasping At the straws of faith, hoping That this bitter, unpalatable Diet of sorrow and suffering Will leave a sweet, soothing Aftertaste of understanding On our trembling lips, and In our broken, empty hearts If only death were but a word Without blood or body bags If only death could be the end Of all thought, of all pain - of all But, oh, he’s too kind and generous! In place of a life he leaves a world Of sorrow to have and to hold, and to Call out our name in the night And hearts keep beating, and Lungs keep breathing, and A million suns will rise, but nothing will Ease our pain, or soften our cries There are no words to be spoken What was whole is now broken, Time has stopped, life has gone We move, we walk, but can’t go on We can’t go on…
