The RIght One

The RIght One

A Poem by Emily

Many years ago, more now then I thought
A girl knew things were much better than they ought
She searched the whole world for someone to agree
Sadly her search was futile, for you see
This girl was truly one of her kind
Soon people told her she was out of her mind
So she began to stay out of site
The worst thing is this poor girl was right
When everyone thought all was okay
She knew coming up was someones' last day
She packed all her things, bid the world goodbye
The world didn't care, she was worth less than a fly
She again searched the world, following a dream
About a place were things are how they seem
In one place she found, everything seemed new
The naive child had only changed view
She stayed in that world till she felt again
That happiness was coming to an abysmal end
She searched desperately to find a new world
And would never find one she died thirteen-years-old
For you see friends, in this new seeming place
People saw her as just a pretty face
When she told them all what she thought,
They killed her for thinking, like she ought

This is very true of most things.
Some people don't like to know other people think.
Some races want to think other races are stupid; males think females are stupid; adults think children are stupid.
Funny how thinking (which should be an unalienable right, but for some reason, I guess, isn't) can be taken away from you.
Especially when you're good at it.
This was fun to read.
