helpless and intentless

helpless and intentless

A Poem by Max Riot

obnoxious lines drew their way

across the pavement

into your driveway

ink seeped through every crevice

drowning thoughts in poisonous words

driving on autopilot

no control

splashes of colour form thoughts that aren't

what you meant for them to be

violently s c r e a m i n g
scratching
e r a s i n g

attempting to rid your ugly veins of these

o b n o x i o s

l i n e s

and poisonous thoughts of which

you never thought you'd have

wreck whatever was l
e
f
t
o f y o u

corrupting every inch of your body
but integral fences kept your mind safe
just your mind

s a f e

i n t a c t

p u r e

alive.
