Now that we're strangers

Now that we're strangers

A Poem by FishOutOfWater

Now that we're strangers
Don't look
Don't touch
And don't speak my name
Don't wallow yourself with ideas of us
Because relit cigarettes never taste the same
Don't try to make it a point to stay in my life
When I've cut the threads of you with a dull ended knife
Search for peace and search for happiness
And get rid of all your awful haughtiness

Just a couple of things - I really like the cigarette metaphor. I think that 'dull ended' would read better as 'dull bladed' and I thought 'haughtiness' was in itself 'haughty'.
Good work here.

this piece represents break up in my eyes. it's very hurtful, going from being very close to someone and then being strangers can be very painful
