You Were My StarA Poem by a-little-disasterTrue StoryMy hands brushed your skin, Barely yet intensely. We laughed together And when I was with you, you created Starlight. Months passed and every day Seemed to be twice as better. My love grew for you, And in the darkness of my heart You were the stars. I hated being without your sweet smile and calming voice. So I called you often, And you stayed with me Like the stars. But I had not realized That the stars were not mine. The day I confessed my love You had said nothing. Leaving me in the dark. I pleaded for you to answer, Although I knew in my heart You had not felt the same. This was my fault, I was not good enough To join the stars. I cried out, "You had been my star But I suppose I had not been yours." Nights have never been So cold and dark. I thought you would always be my light. I thought I would be everything to you. I thought that maybe I could hold the stars. But, I suppose you can't have something That belongs to everyone And nothing At the same time. .............................................................................................................................. + . - + - + . + - . + . ..
