Scarred

Scarred

A Poem by Alissa

Broken, beyond repair this time,

I choose to be numb instead of feeling,

There is no place so lonely as my mind,

No hope of my heart ever healing.

I feel old, so very old and cracked,

Search for the flaws behind this impeccable mask,

As I continue to play my part in this act,

Which has become my unbearble task.

You have taken the light inside my soul,

The one you put there with no regard,

My being has become a useless black hole,

I have become, one who is scarred.

“I have become, one who is scarred.”
Such a strong ending…even in the most hopeless situations I still feel there is hope. I suppose that has a lot to do with the fact that for me…hope is believing when there seems to be no way…that leaves a lot of room to hold onto it even if you have no energy left to do anything else…but that’s just me rambling
Very poignant write and I’m hoping those feelings have died if ever they were yours…

An expressive write, and the rhymes work well. I think it says all it needs to, so I'd be inclined to leave it as it is. ~ Robert.
