Coffee Shop EncounterA Poem by AlissaI met you with whipped cream on my nose, You stared at me not seeming to care, when dawn came, we came to a close, and faded into the morning air.
I knew I needed to break my bond, with the boy who held my hand, and when the third week dawned, I had carried out my plan.
Free as I was now to know you, even with our distance in time, together in our coffee cups we grew, not quite sure what there was to find.
Now, in this day you make me smile, pretending, to be a grown man, even though I will talk awhile, I have to be true to who I am.
