Two in One

Two in One

A Poem by lissa3333333

Broken, yet strong.

Sad, but happy.

In pain, yet still

smiling on.

Two different worlds

lived by one.

One is true and

lives inside,

while the other

plays on and

fools the world.

No matter how weak,

I must stand;

help them

from falling down.

I am the anchor

that stays true.

Helping them along

while I sink -

Sink farther down,

but always

stay strong.

Pressure keeps building

and tests my limits.

Forced to hang on

and bear the weight.

I am the refuge

the saving grace.

The one turned to

when troubles arise.

The one who is blamed

and fights to survive.

Supposed to stay tall

not wither and fall.

How can I manage

the stress of it all?

No break, no release.

Always on point.

Faking perfection

and hiding behind

the "happy"

that's always expected.

A false persona

that's real to all

but me.

Can't show the real me

that lives inside.

It stays within

and fades away.

All that's left is

the feelings of

"happy" and a

sad empty nothingness.

My true sense of self

lost.

The light of day shattered,

leaving two different worlds

lead by

one.

Liked the way this led into dark places. Very fearlessly done.
