Is it really over?

Days had passed and there's still no response
There's no more connection between us
And no more tears that fall
From our tired eyes
Is it really over?

 

I don't know how it all happened
It flew so fast that none of us ever noticed.
It started with a stupid joke,
That continued to be an awful fight.
There's still no ending... yet.

 

They said true friends are never
Out of second chances
I believed it until the day that
Everything changed.
For the years that we've been together,
Nobody expected someone to be so cold.

 

We tried a million times
For just another chance
We asked for forgiveness 
For something none of us did.

 

They say 'learn to understand each other',
But how can we do it if
Immaturity and pride comes in between
And ruin it all?
We all have our own faults
But no one expected it to come to this.

 

'I believe everything happens for a reason',
Like Marilyn Monroe would have said.
'People change so that you can learn to let go'
But, i want to know right now,
Is it really over?

it hurts to let go such good friendship for just some small fights. i can feel a lot of emotions behind this poem and on what the writer might be going through.

For the years that we've been together,
Nobody expected someone to be so cold

i like those lines. friends can't really be tested on how long you've been together. it's on who came and never left.

the last line made an impact too. the question kept the readers awe, on if it's really over. good job. keep on writing!
