Perfectly Imperfect

Perfectly Imperfect

A Poem by alison13

Perfectly Imperfect

Just because I’m quiet doesn't mean
I have nothing to say.
I judge people too easily
by my first impression.
I’d rather wait forever for the
perfect guy, than settle for any
ole' person.

I’m unpredictable and spontaneous.
I try to be forgiving.
I enjoy being unique.
I’m ambitious and determined,
but I can get lazy and unmotivated at times.
I’m a sucker for compliments.
I’d rather look immature and have fun
than to care for what other people think.

Sometimes I’m really confident
and other times I feel really insecure.
I’m creative and imaginative,
I’m curious about everything.
Friends mean everything to me,
but sometimes I just want to be alone.

I envy people who can fit in
easily without even trying.

I try to be sympathetic and supportive,
even if sometimes I fake it
to make you feel good.

I’m opinionated and stubborn
but I’m loyal, sincere, and caring.
You can trust me with you secrets
unless it's something that
I know will hurt you.
I always try to see the best in you,
even if you annoy me.

I hate it when people make me
feel guilty to set their way.
I’ll always be here to listen to your problems.
I’ll stick up for you no matter what happens,
and believe it or not,
that's just me.
Perfectly imperfect.

Dear Writer,

Thank you for the read request. I love the objective in this poem that you are perfect with your flaws. You feel complete in being incomplete in the eyes of those who look at you on their high-firmed stilts daring for you to conform. It is a strong asset for anyone to have, to find security even when everyone else around them is saying otherwise.

I think you messed up grammatically though; if you allow me to proofread it, I can insert my opinionated gestures. I think this poem looks too much like a blob, that just by looking at its form, it'd turn away the reader. I can see some redundancy too. BUT, I do like the poem. It's message captivates the reader to bring about flow. Expressionism is really key in this poem. You do write with your heart, of that is for sure. I think the title of the poem should be, "Perfect With Being Imperfect" but that's just opinion.

Thank you again for the read request and let me hear from you on proofreading. Thank you for aspiring to be a better writer, each and every day. I wish you well! ^_^ 9.4/10.

Sincerely,
S. W. Scaggs

A very sweet and honest poem, which had a really reflective and thought-provoking tone to it. I really liked the line 'perfectly imperfect', and I thought that it was an awesome way to finish your piece, and tie up everything that you said together. This was a really insightful, clever write. Nice work,

A set of prose focused on Alison's self-reflection. Not for me to judge, all in all, but I'll give you an H for Honesty.

I like the poem a second time. Better to be kind and a friend. I believe the poem is different. It is good to be perfectly imperfect.

Excellent. This is a really good write. The last line "perfectly imperfect" is a stroke of genius. I can't help but wonder where you got the idea of writing this from. The poem flows very well. Quite simply, it is brillant.
