Unrequited Love

A Story by Alisha Taylor

just a little something i wrote, this is only a draft

A question that people get asked a lot is "how does it feel to love somebody who doesn't love you back?".
To start with, it's like the world has come crashing down on you. You pray and you pray that you're just on a nightmare, but then you can't wake up because you already happen to be awake, but you god damn wish you weren't. You start to feel empty and alone. Nothing quite compares. You then begin to wonder why heartbreak is so clichéd because it's now that you know that heartbreak isn't some beautiful nightmare, it's now that you know that it's a lonely and painful tragedy. Heartbreak is mentally damaging and it's only a matter of time before it destroys you. The scars will permanently stain your soul. You can't help but ask yourself, why wasn't I good enough?' but why do we even think that we're entitled to somebody's love? why is that? Six months later at 4am, when you can't sleep, they're all you can think about. Anger rushes through you, and you start to feel sick.
Does it ever end?

I've been there, it's horrible! Your description of the emotional roller coaster ride is spot on.
