A Bit About Me

A Bit About Me

A Poem by Alisa Trudel
"

Just a lil something about myself I threw together.

"
And here you'll find a little diddy
about someone who thinks she's witty
She sat down to write
in a yellow light
that doesn't look very pretty

I find I speak too much
My parents tell me to hush
Though I talk to myself
and think I need help,
I don't think I'd ever try kush

I'd like to get a cat
It'd be fuzzy and furry and fat
As I'd rub his fat belly,
my friends would be jelly
but I wouldn't think about that

I'm confused about my race
a softer reality to face
I'm yellow and white
but my kids would be...light?
Let's just worry about another case

Well, this girl who finds herself funny
Strangely doesn't worry about money
But when you're out on the streets
and there's a cat lady you meet,
Give her a lil somethin, hunny
