Prognosis

Prognosis

A Poem by Alisa Js

the analysis was bleak
love her then leave
sitting
on the edge of a very fine line
between heartache and ridicule
thrown around for kicks and giggles
pressed out in front of
a cold hearted fool,
spouting what could only be
delusion,
wrapped in illusions,
deflated at best

let's not bend toward that proud peacock
of nasty intentions
gleaming all garbled
misunderstood stride,
never turns out well

throw out the pom-poms
along with the double-speak
don't you know I can see straight through you
I felt her from here
lose the sorry excuses
and be, if you dare
the  man I thought I once knew
and believed in

on a wind swept night
in a place once called paradise,
she walked with her head in the rain
faced the tears, though they blinded
the worst kind,
the kind that strips away years...

Alis Js,
"Prognosis"
"On the edge of a very fine line between heartache and ridicule." The prognosis seems weak here for the strong heartbeat of trust seems to be missing.
"She faced with her head in the rain." Here is the courage to move forward in the death of the old song which was not harmonizing to her heart.
Beautiful poem.
Blessings,
Kathy

Well, it's the cold, hot messy truth of it all.
The tears are the only thing we know for sure is honest at this point.
The "prognosis" indicates a disease. Even when hopeless, miracles happen. Even when the disease destroys the body, there is a birth of hope and a release of a captured spirit...
I know you see these gifts now, yet when the tests first come back the news is always hard to take.
Thank you for sharing.

i see two "hers" here.

the one from the relationship as it once was...and the one he has left her with now.

and it is so sad...because i think once trust in love is broken...we will never completely get that back again.

it is gone..we have been thrown out of paradise, the pool is now closed...and there is no going back...

and all those years seem so wasted...we are left with the questions..."why did you do that to me, to us?"

and

"why was i so blind, why did i waste those precious years?"

~ when i read a poem that's so close to my heart, that i cannot distinguish between my heart and the poem, i am moved to tears, and i'm that moved right now... that "ridicule" has taken years from my life... and sometimes i wonder if i will recover... ~ i was an entirely different person before it... i would smile a lot effortlessly... ~ thank you for writing and sharing this immensely intense piece of poetry... my pain got halved...
