Sweet Reverie

Sweet Reverie

A Poem by Alisa Js

and you
with your easy style, carefree laugh - so contagious
a dream come true
fantasies fulfilled
for every girl
and maybe boy,
let's not get technical here.

kindness exudes from your happy heart
they all gather 'round
inching ever closer
without a clue,
all needing to know
if for them, this could be possible
happy every afters
tugging.
visions of forever
intoxicating.

and yet
they wait.
the words they long to hear seldom caress your luscious lips,
a hint, perhaps
they read to find a nugget there
a hidden phrase
for the one who can recognize
find of key

oh! sweet reverie

such shallow shrills of insincerity
life's lessons cut to the very core and more
eternity's blessing
sometimes worse,
we who've crawled through blood and fears
we know
ah yes, we know...

that imaginary person, almost like Jesus when he walked among us...if that really happened.
They all wanted to hear him, be him...
so perfect....but we humans, not so much...we do crawl through blood and fears...
and we shed many tears...the happy ever afters are fought for hard...and seldom come true.
we are immersed in real life....no paradise, no pristine picture of existence.
This poem is so deep...so impressive in its scope.

The subject of this offering seems to be one of that species of narcissists who use their looks and charm to rack up as many pubic scalps as possible. They recognize neediness in others, know exactly what to say to lure the unwary into the sack. Then they dump them to go in search of new victims. In time they get their comeuppance, but not before they've broken many a heart. They should be regarded only as learning experiences and then forgotten.

I really enjoyed that, this was an exquisite piece that really draws the reader in and holds on till the very end. Not to mentioned the truth you have delivered.
