Choices

Choices

A Poem by Alisa Js

there is just so much I want to say
and if I pull on this stream
of mindfulness,
will the letters crumble
through this pen
onto parchment

and with this tender travail
surrounded by doubts and inadequacy
I know that you know

and yet, I could not bring myself to divulge
the undeniable,
this truth

we savored enchantments
relished in rapture

and still, I stood firm
masking my semblance
of being so sure,
I never learn

scrambling to catch butterflies
in the midst of a fire storm
lost sight of what I most desired

you ...

the truth can be like an elusive butterfly...but sooner or later we capture it in our words...and i think the words are never easy to make up when we are trying to ...they come on their own accord, when and how they want to....but eventually they do. And as you say in the poem...sometimes we figure out too late that we wanted someone...and we never acted upon the feelings...they just come out later in a poem...
