Redemption

Redemption

A Poem by Alisa Js

is there
anything of significance
beyond our point of relevance
rather, should refuge be the key we seek
believing all is well,
regardless of external disasters
lurking around this supposed tranquility.
against the slash of a single word
bleeding into weeks and months
years and beyond

or

do we roll back to days long past
to those memories we share,
desiring of anything that feels resplendent
inside these days of turmoil and tears
before
floating away on some abyss of nothingness
against the stillness of a pristine day

let us lay here
and remember
before it's too late,
happy smiles
between the miles
that tend to separate

the very best
of what we have left ...

'floating away on some abyss of nothingness
against the stillness of a pristine day'
I love this bit. I have just read a few of your poems and they all have a lovely flow, your descriptions are brilliant, combining a natural voice with some really specific vocabulary (not going to lie I had to google what resplendent meant, but once I knew it fitted so well into that sentence). Also love how you use so few sentences in your poetry, your own style.
