One Wish

 

 

there is a place for those like us

a place the world can’t see,

inside our hearts where we can soar

take flight and live the dream,

inside our scene of destiny

you'll come to me

like we always knew

one day,

this would be true

you'll tell me, I'm the only one

how could we have forgotten,

we knew this from our first time

we belonged,

your whole life

with mine

we'll laugh and cry

and pinch ourselves,

to make sure we're not dreaming

with hearts on fire

we'll never tire of having everything we need,

two hearts forever true

if I could have but one wish

it would be you

after all these years,

and days and nights

I can think of nothing else ...

The laughter - the all-encompassing joy of meeting them and the crying for the years in the wilderness - waiting. Apologizing for not having looked harder for them - for not dropping everything to seek them out.

I have known of certain ones who met for the first time and knew they were meant to be... yet, for some reason, continued to go their separate ways...

Years later, they ran into each other by, 'accident'... and realized the they found the missing part of their heartbeat... and never left each other's side.

I have read countless accounts of those certain ones who knew that they knew... when they met their beloved... it was their destiny... and 50 years later as they celebrate their golden anniversary with children and grandchildren all around...stand as living testimonies of the power of true love...

This is one reason, I continuously write about love as I totally believe in the power to heal...

I totally concur Alisa.
It's those stories of love overcoming all that keep me going in fact.
I do wonder though why the so-called 'best years' are denied the soul-mate in many of those cases - and in that I mean the physical lithe years (but that is me being shallow and/or self-centred). But to be honest I would rather spend the last day of my life with the one I love - even if we had been apart for a whole human lifetime than never.
