Buttercup Hues

Buttercup Hues

A Poem by Alisa Js

with each bite of this buttercup
memories flow and never stop.
how did we end up this way
with one foot in neutral
the other in stalemate

there were answers before
dancing along the golden sunset
lilac afternoons, sipping orange and mint tea
laughter till midnight
we were sure things would be alright

no one ever suspected
you or I would ever leave.
no one could believe
it would end this way

we were perfect for each other.

and now, with this buttercup
I'm starting not to feel
I may be way beyond caring
as this is no longer real

life without you
rings hollow, it's true
love falters and misbehaves
around
twisted shades of blue ...

~ wow... this piece has some really outstanding imagery... (neutral/stalemate; lilac afternoons; twisted shades of blue)... to possibly depict the mysterious end of a spectacular beginning... ~ i sense sadness but also a kinda detachment... ~ perhaps, we miss certain people less over time... as is evidenced in the expression "i may be way beyond caring"... ~ a deeply insightful read, dear alisa...
