Illusion Delusion

was I wrong to believe in forever

kept telling myself, if I only had

one more chance,

to finally know you

to prove that I could

listen and live in your world,

unfurled

a semblance of cozy turned out to be

crazy on steriods,

in the still of the night

without warning or notice,

vicious venom

striking this heart

without cause and out of season

what was I thinking

how did I not see

this was only an illusion

somehow, I got it all wrong...

Sometimes what we believe to be true turns out to be a mirage....At times we are even aware that we are going to jump into an abyss but still we take the jump...only to be left with regrets and remorse.

It's the hardest thing, to admit, not that we were wrong, but that we were the main instrument of our own deception.
Too close to see the machinations and sleight of mind that we perform on ourselves.
This feels like such a pain-filled admission Alisa.

~ stunning title and the expression "a semblance of cozy turned out to be / crazy on steroids" is to die for... and what a profound insight into the yin and yang equation this piece of poetry provides, dear alisa... ~ i have been through an experience without realizing i was not getting it right... it was something else in my head and something else in reality... and i think when we go through such an experience, it's harsh but a real eye-opener...
