A Poem by Alisa Js

how do I explain this constant consort
never a word spoken,
though it's all I can hear

memories of you
echo in silent rumination
images inspect what's left of my mind
and it's all I can do to stay sane

how can I manage
how do I cope
when every face is your face
every smile is your smile
each step that I take
you're right here, right beside me

almost as if you never left.

I remember our laughter
anger and tears,
far reaching emotions
but never this fear
of you gone forever,

never to be ...

~ beautiful piece, dear alisa... i think that what transpires between two people is very personal... and very private and unique... and though there are parts of romance that all of us relate to, there are parts which are esoteric for others but completely clear to the couple... ~ for me, your poem speaks about how the narrator leans on memories -- the weight of which only she can know and yet the reader travels to private moments in the reader's life... and reflects upon reading your infinitely poetic words...

"Constant consort"
This is such a beautiful phrase.
"How do I cope
When every face is your face
Every smile is your smile"
We have all been there Alisa.
You have touched the strings of my heart.
Beautifully penned.

Wow - 'constant consort' what a phrase. And employed in such a way as to convey their presence as both a salve and a curse. Masterful Alisa!
"images inspect what's left of my mind..." - you're poetry is powerful.
I worked in IT a few years back. No matter how many times a hard-drive was wiped it always contained ghosts. And in programming - if one wasn't careful one could leave zombies in the system (little snippets of code that took up the vital memory space). Your poem here recalled those phenomenon.
Keep writing my friend.
I got your 'back'
(gentle hug)
