Somewhere

Somewhere

A Poem by Alisa Js

I don't remember exactly when the lines fled
and reality set in
or maybe it was that same reality that took us beyond
where we thought we
would find that proverbial key,
the one written about endlessly
over centuries by sages

and yet, never found.

and maybe it doesn't matter anymore
the way your touch stopped everything except
the sound of you and me

we ran and played in a world that was all our own
there was nothing we couldn't do
as long as we held tight.
I believed in you back then
and still do.

although we dance around the obvious
laugh at anything that makes us nervous
I can't remember when the line moved
to some other town

from all that we were
me and you

somewhere out there
are memories of happiness
of bright sided wine glasses
kisses of red
and laughter that heals

who knew...

I love this stanza:
the way your touch stopped everything except
the sound of you and me

we ran and played in a world that was all our own
there was nothing we couldn't do
as long as we held tight.
I believed in you back then
and still do.

that was just gorgeous AJ...

Nice Poem Who knew

The Happiness refreshes the memories
We share every moment with together
The life moment like unwritten paper
What we write, the writer seems so better

Nice poem friend. I like it

~ it's heartbreaking when "the line moves to some other town"... ~ this is a beautiful piece of poetry, dear alisa, and it reveals so many new and unique ways in which the english language can be deployed to create powerfully poetic expressions... i especially loved the "wine glasses" stanza... ~ and i often wonder about why people in a relationship drift away from each other even though there's no reason for the distance... maybe one of them still believes in magic but the other one turns cynical... ~ can't say for certain... who knows... as you so precisely articulate in your closing...
