Blindsided

Blindsided

A Poem by Alisa Js

the comments were shocking
as the moment gasped and froze
slashed by
sharp swords
from a cold soul.
revealing
your image of me
never did match my reflection of you

sad face
broken heart,
how did I not know
through all our tears
just when I thought we were standing strong
with this unbreakable bond,
I fell ten thousand years
into this endless span of melancholy
no way out
this time around...

~ ohhhhhh... this is brilliantly done, alisa... the title is insightful and what follows is such a heartbreaking look at what some people do to us... and i found the concluding image so compelling that i nearly choked... because i know it so well... and when i was in it... i thought i had just died... and was a ghost who seemed visible to those around me... ~ it's incredible for me to witness your journey as a poet... and how you become even more skilled and even more sensitive over time...
