Boundaries

Boundaries

A Poem by Alisa Js

it wasn't enough that it involved everyone
everyone in your world that you thought would care
or at least that's what they tell you to your face

you don't want to know what they actually think
and share
when you're not within range
let's just say, it's not what you desperately want to believe

I loved you beyond the boundary lines
it's just something I do
and I can't explain why

my head knows better
logic confirms
but my heart keeps believing
that one day, this love will be returned

there is no easy way to say this
so, maybe I'll just pass

keeping my distance respectable
while watching the chaos implode.
when did life get so complicated
what happened to happy ever after

there was a time when I thought love was enough
only to realize now

what a fool I really was...

Yet another amazing and masterful piece. So much going on through out...the many thoughts, emotions, countless questions. I love the line "While watching chaos implode". When any kind of boundary exists, always makes things tough. almost like walking on egg shells if u will.

Between two people who really love each other there are no such boundaries, the fact that a boundary has been laid is sure indication that one of those two which have boundaries has a reason for it, maybe they do not want you to be hurt by their own limitations, actions, words, thoughts or maybe they just need room to breathe...I do not believe anyone who loves with all of their heart would set an uncrushable boundary without a very good reason...that being... they feel they need one. ..no love is a foolish love, no love requires apology, no one should be ashamed that they were courageous enough to love, no you, not me. Somewhere there is a beautiful flower and a lone star, they will never leave, certainly not to cross the inner boundary of one's own heart...there they will remain always.

-- i think the speaker of this beautiful and infinitely poetic lament is an incredibly perceptive and sensitive person... but the subject is not someone who could match the speaker's intellect as well as level of consciousness... for whatever reason... -- excellent work, poetess alisa... it reveals many facets of the human psyche in a very expressive and moving way...

i don't see the speaker as such a fool, i see the object of her affections as the fool...regardless of what others think of him (obviously not very much)....she loves him, doesn't care what others think...and yet she cannot have happy ever after because he is the "fool."
