how many times did we almost

right down to the minute

almost to the day

maybe all I wanted was 

that certain sense of safeness,

your arms around me, 

promising

'we will be O.K.'

so many reasons

we left it at 

almost.

so many seasons 

of 

struggling and pain.

and I know if we wanted to

we could have,

we should have

and now, all I can see

are 

those haunting 

memories

would I be willing to bring back

if

I could somehow bend time...
