Scattered Beings

Scattered Beings

A Poem by Alisa Js

maybe its nothing more than criminal
running from anything that's safe
or sane
on this side of forever

stuck in this endless loop
always the same

clouds in the sky looked down and laughed
mercy surrounding the off chance of
rioting in the streets

how many times did the finish line move
just a bit closer to never gonna happen
how much longer
as
letters abound and pencils fail

how many souls must I go through this time
riding roughshod on edit in the passenger's seat

how many ways to say no...

I love the juxtaposition of this piece, you really get a sense of inner as well as outward turmoil

Thank you for your time and comments...
Is there really anything safe? Or even sane? Ponder this we should. Life at times can seem like an endless loop of perfect insanity. In reality in order to truly live we must take chances, not run from them. To play it safe is ok within certain parameters, tho sometimes we tend to take it too far. Sadly we live in a society that's grown content, complacent. How many ways to say indeed...

-- excellent work, dear alisa... that opening line is just so compelling... what a thought... i think that i could describe some years of my life as "criminal running away from anything that's safe or sane"... and i relate to the rest of this piece even more... and that closing is so powerfully poignant... -- maybe we get so accustomed to saying no to anything that's safe and sane that it becomes a behavioural pattern and we don't want to change... -- the human psyche can be so perplexing at times...

Strong and honest thoughts in the poetry.

The mind can get scattered. Sometime we must just stop and regain our mind and place. Thank you Alisa for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are welcome Alisa.
i ran away for twenty years...i know this poem...
got closer and closer to never...

then realized i should never say never...and started to give into feelings again...but carefully and a bit reluctantly which probably is not smart.
