it feels like I've known you before time was
with nothing in between
you and me,
it's the only thing that makes sense
in my head.
how else can I explain
except to say
there is a wonder beyond expression
and yet,
I understand.
how could I not?
the answer to the question
remains
inside this heart of preparation,
patiently waiting
anticipating,
contemplating.
why tarry
one moment longer
as days stretch
one into another
and you,
still
inside my every thought
surrounding every dream
I look for the door
that leads to you,
wow - i absolutely love this - you've loved him all along, searching for the courage to be with him - and you did find the courage to finally approach love into the relationship
There has to be a day when a person gently beckons and whispers, 'I'm yours, you're mine, we're Us ' and, with every breath of your being you know it's right. Til then i can only suppose patience becomes a best friend in spite of the interim loneliness. The power of one's emotion is just bearable, but -which door to open, what words to say: This is a beautifully written poem - capturing more than the search for an answer.. ..
I know this feeling, and its as frustrating as it is wonderful. You are truly the inspirational icon for romantic poetry, at least in my world, lol. You have always excelled in emotion and class, your heart is a constant, and bigger than the state I live in, I have always admired that about you.

You have already made my year the best year ever ;)
Amazing as always. Certainly takes the reader on a journey through the writers heart and mind. The search for that door that leads to the love they seek. Know is there yet unable to reach. Determined to have no matter how long it takes.

yes, indeed. Thank you for your comments.. Happy New Year
really beautiful use of language, it reads wonderfully. The emotion feels very sweet, tender, which makes the whole poem very soft and gentle - lovely piece.
and love is right there, on the other side of that door...i have known this feeling...and unfortunately at times, failed to go through it, out of fear.
i don't think the speaker in this poem feels that fear...she is ready.
