I have felt this with several people in my life. Often it is challenging to determine when one should keep quiet or just be open and accept what is.
I think two mature, healthy people should be able to speak openly and plainly without attaching expectations.
I like the poetry because it is openly simple and in contrived. The reader can see intention and understand the situation with a few concise words. Naturally, you left a few things "unsaid".
After all, just exactly what "this" is will be unique to each reader.
Well done.
A rather silly thing to say to a writer, but who needs words when the actions scream out loud. Sometimes all we need is a look, a smile and knowing they know we know.
Beautifully penned.
