Out here

Out here

A Poem by Alisa Js

finding my place on the far side of this very small ledge
I observed,
as I often do
during times of great consternation

wondering to myself
where does love go?

when the door slams shut
and the hammer falls hard

without warning.

watching for clues in the words I heard
when your mouth moved

nothing.

feelings of ice buckets inside my face
with this cold wave slap.
guess I shouldn't be surprised
since,
what I knew was there
had nothing to do with
what you believed to be,
even though this no longer makes sense
no matter how hard we try

out here, I will slip inside the night
rolling without sound
after ear drums wrecked ...

-- wow... i relate to this post so much... -- i was living in what i like to call 'my favourite delusion' for almost 7 years... and walking out of it (which i did recently) felt exactly as you've described so very poetically... -- all the images relating to ice that you've created are particularly powerful... and moving...
