Questions and Ramblings

Questions and Ramblings

A Poem by Alisa Js

Why do those bold proclamations
So kind to the masses
Step over ones who have been there, forever
Perhaps too familiar
Too blind
Rolled under excuses of life

Polite bantering
Careful rumbling of feathers on fire
Splintered innuendo
Flutters in springtime
Birds on a high wire
Brain storm in tow

Ageless questions
No right or wrong answers
Foundation crumbles with mixed sand and little bits of rocks
Washed from the seashore

Left on dry land
It wasn't a promise
Not that it mattered
Rather a thought
That dared to hope...

~~ wow... what a stunning piece of writing... ~~ for me, this piece is powerful, thought-provoking, vivid and very skilfully written... ~~ at a philosophical level, it reminds me of how most of us... including me... keep evolving on an on-going basis... trying at all times to be balanced... and yet tripping... and slipping... and falling... ~~ and still... holding on to the aspiration of wanting to lead a more meaningful life... ~~ sometimes... i think the greatest challenge is to not turn cynical despite some rather harsh experiences... ~~ p.s. "feathers on fire" is an instance of gorgeous alliteration... i'm likely to remember this poem as the "feathers on fire" poem...
