Winter Windfall

dare I even begin to dream again

to wish upon the evening stars

and ride the flames

near and far

might I take a little peek

inside your spark

that tiny flame

that heats for me and lights the dark

shall we crawl

toward that step

or turn back now,

without regrets

may I think of you

here, under the winter moon

indulge me, tell me dear

we'll be together, soon ...

Sorry Alisa Im just a wee bit jaded by past experience lol. Aloha by the way. :)

I love the hopeful romantic nature of this poem and its fresh feel. Tentative steps in the dance always feel new and fresh and without taint don't they? I love the phrase "Indulge me..." - so much humour but also a heartfelt plea - smashing writing Alisa. More please... unjade me lol

i like "may i think of you/ under the winter moon"
such a polite movement toward another...
and we can only hope our significant other is thinking of us as we are thinking of him or her.
and those decisions...to love or not to love---take the risk or turn back without regrets.
