To feel you are accepted and in the right place in life take so much more than an extravagant home with beautiful furnishings. It takes love, affection, and caring. You've expressed this so well. Lydi**

Thank you, Lydia for your comments... I will be by soon.
the opening words I linger - say so much - not living, not enjoying - surviving, just
in a house that is never home - just a house with 'things' - things that remind the author of how empty their life really is - trinkets and baubles with no soul. Filling the house with these space fillers that dont fill the void. So much said in a little poem. I hope you dont mind - but in my head I distilled it down to this - "AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH"
sorry if that sounds facetious Alisa - it isnt meant to be.

Thank you for your most perceptive comments. I agree, a house is not a home unless filled with love and other treasures of the heart.
Add to that, people who truly love and cherish each other. That's not to say there won't be disagreements from time to time, but when love and respect are present, two hearts can agree to disagree and still walk together in a spirit of harmony.
Thank you for your time ...
Alisa :-)

Think about it. When two people love and respect each other, they can agree to disagree about a particular subject, yet still love and respect each other. Each person is an individual and will have his or her opinions. One of the most important things in a relationship of any type is to have the freedom to express yourself in honest and open communication. To have the security to be able to speak about any subject matter with the other.
If two people are exactly the same, think the same and everything else is exactly the same, then one of them aren't needed... or one of them is a robot...
;-)
Make sense???
My point is that is it important for there to be mutual respect between those who care about each other.

No worries....thanks again for your time and comments :-)
I agree, it takes much more than money to make a home... much more than things to fill a heart and soul...much more than stuff to keep one satisfied...
The real treasures are found in the heart.
I have known certain ones who had more money than they could ever count, yet were miserable! ...barely recognizable as human life forms who had degenerated into paranoid and suspicious shells of their former selves, casting cynical eyes on everyone and everything... no pleasure in existing...
I have also known those who lived month to month, financially speaking, yet were happy beyond measure...
as they were the ones who understood where their true treasures were...
Happy New Year to you too, dear Alisa... hope to read many more brilliant poems from you this year.... read moreHappy New Year to you too, dear Alisa... hope to read many more brilliant poems from you this year... and you're very welcome... :)
