Blue Tides

Blue Tides

A Poem by Alisa Js

your words speak of comfort
but your actions remain paralyzed
I'm drowning out here
as birds swim by
turning a blind eye,
words flutter and creep
I'm slipping underneath,
do you even hear me?

it wasn't the last time and maybe not the first
the battle came and rolled out of sight
tender hearts don't make it
fold them and weep,
it never occurred to me that all this time
the enemy was free

lonely fools are lonely still
madness knows no bounds
crazy has no curfew
while solitude runs without a sound

the danger is not in the living
but rather in not doing and sitting
for no other reason than breaking the band of
lies we believed and held dear

did we not mean anything
when silence whispered those many years
where have we come to
where do we begin,
under the blue tides
it's quiet down here...

Very nice word flow and imagery. I like your writing. I do see a element of pain involving love it most of your pieces. I wish you the best in your romantic endeavors.

Thank you, serah...

Yes, this is a commentary of our social conditioning from the govt/media/complex... all double-speak without any follow through. Empty platitudes that accomplish nothing other than to dumb down whoever may be listening... as the empty suits drone on and on and on... about nothing really as nothing ever gets done.. only more and more droning... filling our minds with mindless reality shows that have nothing to do with reality...
all the while, real reality is a horror-show... that no one wants to address... but rather, what do they do?

...continue to spill out words that sound so comforting without any follow through.. the cycle is endlessly repeating and endless...around and around ...

I could go on and on and on.. but I know you get where I'm going...

Thanks again for stopping by,

Alisa

:: poetess alisa... ~ hello from somewhere near the taj mahal ~ ... these "blue tides" are buzzing in the alleys of my mind... :: this silence is seething from within... and it's likely gonna implode... one day... :: i had a friend who once told me that sometimes we have to do things and sometimes we have to "sit it out"... and just wait... for someone to break their personal silence... :: i love this entire piece and my favourite stanza is the "crazy has no curfew" one... it's sheer genius... not just because of the alliteration and the imagery... but also because of how profoundly accurate it is... in terms of the way it describes an important dimension of the human condition... :: our society, in some ways, is a society made up of loners... ~ serah
