Open

A Poem by Alisa Js

I came to you with a heart full of love
open hands brimming with wishes and delightful scenes

what a fool I became
for you were so willing to take
as long as I was willling to give
and give I did
you little tease
reeling me in
until you managed to,
throw away the please

in the center of your world
there was room for only one
and I,
hung around beyond
begging for crumbs
watching as time rolled by
hoping against hope, I guess
that maybe
on that certain day
you would notice
and
we'd be as
I'd always imagined

but you,
the mastadon of smooth
made no time for such
nonsence.
instead
pressed on and on and on
and I?
fell behind
continuing to stray by the sidelines ...

~ brilliantly written... powerful and razor sharp... loved the tone...

Do you know what the definition of a mastadon is in the urban dictionary? Take a look which will provide greater insight to this piece.

Aloha Jacob,

Thank you for your time. In this piece, I use Romeo as sarcasm... make sense??

Hope so,

alisa ;-)

yes, but Romeo at least did love Juliet..

this guy needs to be booted far and away...

i love the line, "mastadon of smooth"

that is such cool phrasing...

"begging for crumbs"

he should be begging..and someday might.
