Shadows

Shadows

A Poem by Alisa Js

there is never an easy way to dissuade that curious set of pretense
led 'round that inevitable frown dropped from the sages
wrapped and bound
pushed up your face
and for a brief moment, I allowed myself
to listen
along the sound of your smile
hoping still for
happiness on a hot slumber
and yet, the willow wept while midtown melted down

I cried
stumbling
realizing nothing lasts forever
emptiness grew
while

the rage continued to press against
warm hearted fools who care
like a razor the words jutted
until
no things were left evident
evidence removed and placed in a safe house
somewhere in a demented mind
a tortured soul
where darkness still pulls...

You really have changed your style and voice haven't you..I love it. The honesty of disappointment serves you so well. And the poetry slithers into the garden with a gentle temptation. Wow..how far you have traveled to relay the soul beneath. This is simply wonderful Hawaii. I just might have to step my simplicities up a notch. Can't let you start getting ahead now can I ? You've always been the brilliant one but if you start putting that into your poetry ...well...then we are all in for quite the ride...lol. JK..You've always been great ..But THIS?? I mean come on!!! :) I have awakened very impressed HAwaii!

'Shadows'
Alisa Js,
Hi there. This was the acceptance of a darkness sometimes. In others in oneself. Humanity is complex and many layered. People can be hurt and broken and tender. You just never know just what someone is going through. It's hard when the pain of another causes a lashing out and we must get out of way. I think that relationships can sometimes be tricky that way. Really good poem.
Blessings,
Kathy

Thank you, Kathy... I trust all is well.

Alisa
Everyone has a sense of darkness within them, but when loved and trusted ones or anyone tend to disturb this darkness if act upon or when one has heard and listened to enough it releases a rage within so to speak its so many emotions that could be expressed here good use of words here as well. as always keep writing fellow writer

~ you know what it's like for you and for the other side of the equation... reading you is like traveling into the hitherto undiscovered realms of the human psyche... ~ this is incredibly insightful work... i am in awe...

Wonderful write.
Love many expressions.
This line is my most favorite:
"and yet, the willow weeped while midtown melted down"
However, you may replace wept for "weeped".
