Hopeless

Hopeless

A Poem by Alisa Js

where is that beleaguered summer moon
distant now from this hellish field left standing
and all I see are tattered remnants of what could have been
glimpses torture what's left of me

the logic's flawed
timing's off
this road leads past Gehenna

angry saps cry foul
tepid brains struggle
strangled by the stench that flows
from dirty mouths unwashed

unfiltered sacrilege flies in the face of reason
tiny fists pump with mock irreverence
no one cares or sees
memories impaled and dribble down
past some distant land in some other mind

when life was new
and love was real,
it mattered then...

'Hopeless'
Alisa Js,
This is a cry of loss; honest and forthcoming. It is like the process that is needed so that a soul can find a new anchor. The old has to go and new must come. I appreciated the lovely rhythm within your words reminding of the rise and fall of the tide, even of the seasons. Life is like that. I hope you are doing well and enjoying something within this summer.
Blessings,
Kathy

~ an infinitely poetic expression of an immeasurable anguish... but you do carry that real love and new world with you... it's the light that escapes even through the darkest of your pieces... ~ brilliant work...
